This module aims to provide an overview of BMS and outline the most important aspects associated with BMS feeding. The following learning objectives will be met in this module:

• To provide families information on breast milk substitutes and counsel families to make an appropriate infant feeding decision based on their personal situation.
• To evaluate situations where breastfeeding may be contraindicated and give practical recommendations on alternatives.
• To transfer knowledge of the current recommendations for infant formula composition.
• To counsel families on correct formula preparation, storage and bottle feeding procedures.
